First, the bike description and pictures do not correspond to the actual bike I got, but it ended up being the one I was looking for: 250W Skylark.
In terms of the bike, I think it’s a fun little bike. I hadn’t ridden a bike in 35 years; it has been good for me since I wasn’t looking for a high performance e-bike. I wanted something I could easily manage and that wouldn’t be too expensive in case I didn’t enjoy getting back on a bike. With that in mind it works for me.
However, the bike feels quite small for me. I’m 5’-11”, 215 lbs. The last bike I rode was my 20” BMX when I was a teenager and I remember being much easier to maneuver. The cranks are very short and the pedals are tiny. So it’s not so good if you are looking for a serious workout. The bike is on the heavier side; I can’t really feel the pedal assistance kicking in. The throttle works very well, so I’m able to pedal while lightly throttling when I need a boost.
The motor works good, maybe a little more power would’ve been good. On my neighborhood streets it’s more than enough, but I’ve gone a few times to busier streets and the ride isn’t bad but the bike could be a little zippier and have better shock absorbing capabilities.
Currently I’m physically limited to exercise too much, so the amount of pedaling I’m able to do on this bike is good enough for me. And being a folding bike is very nice. However, had I tried the bike first I would’ve gone with one with 20” wheels and maybe a more powerful motor.
