Bakcou Storm Jäger Description
The Bakcou Storm Jäger is unlike other fat tire electric mountain bikes. Not only does it feature a 1000W (nominal output) mid-drive motor, it has an internally-geared hub (IGH) drivetrain.
Jäger, the German word for hunter, pays homage to the German-engineered Rohloff hub that this version of our Storm is built around. The Rohloff Speed Hub is an internal gear hub, meaning this bike doesn't have a traditional cassette and derailleur system. This 14-speed hub is a feat of engineering, the huge gear ratio allows for high speeds and the ability to climb like a beast.
Internal gear hubs require less maintenance than traditional derailleur systems. Because the majority of the mechanisms are housed, you have peace of mind when you are deep in the backcountry.
We combined the incredible performance of an Ultra motor, with a full suspension frame, and the top of the line internal gear Rohloff hub to create the best-in-class Storm Jäger.

The full-suspension Storm G2 was designed and engineered around the unparalleled power and performance of Bafang's Ultra mid-drive motor. The Ultra motor is widely recognized as the “diesel engine” of mid-drive motors! For this reason, the rear suspension of the Storm G2 had to be just as heavy-duty, in order to handle all of this torque and power without causing the frame to flex under intense loads.
The all-metal, heavy-duty gearing, of the Ultra motor, combined with the intelligence of an integrated torque sensor, make the Ultra motor the most capable, durable, and efficient motor on the planet and now there is a full-suspension bike to handle it.
The Ultra motor is also referred to as a “smart motor”. The speed, cadence, shift, brake, and torque sensors provide continuous feedback from the rider to the motor. This allows the motor to deliver exactly what you ask. What you get, is a very natural feeling ride, even while providing a tremendous amount of torque and power output.

Neat little scooter. Very easy to operate. If you are taller than 6 foot it may be too small for you. Perfect to fold away and put in a vehicle. Great price!
The 48v has been terrific for my beach riding. On flat surface and 12mph headwinds, I still went 40 miles and still had battery life. I like the pedal assist much better than my other bike which is either on or off assist. And one gear makes it a moped. Not this bike. Multiple gears, pedal assist. I added extra lights for night time riding too
Have had my 500w for 2 1/2 years. Love it! Love the power going up hills or putting the hammer down, this is a fun bike, a fast bike, a powerful bike! However, they Need to make a rear basket or flatbed for it. Otherwise these are great bikes!

I rarely write reviews,but felt it was important to put my opinion out there. You'll never be sorry you made this investment for your health and wellbeing. I got mine (mint green) and within one week my husband wanted one too so we got him the white one. I put well over 500 miles on it in 3 months time and don't have fancy trails to ride on. I rarely use the throttle as the pedal assist is enough and often just use 2 (out of 5) PAS mode. I have found the throttle helpful at an uphill stop sign and need to get through it quickly. It's easy to learn and feel very safe on it. I highly recommend this Bike and supplier. I had a bit of a wait time for the first one, but it was coming from across the ocean. Electric Zip kept me informed the best they could and this was when all of the container ships were backed up at the ports! When we ordered my husband's bike, it was here within the week. I run out of energy well before the battery does. I've never used up the whole battery at one ride! You'll love your decision on this bike once you make it so do it today before they're out of stock.
